F&S HOUSE

Light, marble and teak wood define the flow of this attic in the heart of Salerno. The apartment is located on the top floor of a 1970s building, and is the result of the unification of two adjacent units. It features custom made fixtures, with a special attention devoted to reuse of existing materials and fixtures such as doors, closets and floor finishes.

The apartment is divided into two parts with very distinct characters, highlighted both by their layout principles and use of materials. The pulsating heart of the flat is the living area. It is a sequence of interconnected and flexible spaces, organized around a large glass partition. Whilst specializing the rooms around it, this glass-and-oak membrane allows a visual connection between the living room, the dining room and the office. These rooms share the same floor material, a continuous stretch of pink Portugal Marble, dating back to the 70s as it was repurposed from other areas of the apartment itself.

The sleeping area, on the other hand, is very intimate and discreet. Overlooking the inner courtyard, it is organized around a linear circulation. A natural teak-wood flooring, accentuates a sense of comfort and warmth.
